My entry for GB_Pixel_Art_Jam_2025
the theme is Balance,
my initial idea was to draw something symmetrical, or something about a circus, but both were boring (or I just didn't feel inspired by it), so instead I tried to think of something else that could represent the Balance itself, and all I could think of was nature.
I actually wanted to draw a forest at first, but it ended up looking more like a bush/grass field.
I also managed to simplify it to only 44 unique tiles, hopefully it can also be counted as another Balance.
Edit: I added another screenshot with a cut of the tile intersections and replaced the colors with the PopLaughCry palette, so the tile intersections can be seen
Edit: I fixed some pixel misplacements, so instead of 44 unique tiles, there actually should be only 43 unique tiles  -_-

I am gobsmacked that this is only 44 tiles, that is some incredible optimization. The most amazing thing is that I wouldn't have even realized unless you had pointed it out.

Speaking of which, I've only just now noticed that the hair tiles are used for the greenery at the top, that is awesome!!!

Thank you thank you ๐Ÿ™Œโค,

Well, almost every part of her hair are being reused as surrounding plants, i think it could become some kind of seek and find game ๐Ÿ˜†, hint: her ribbon tie is also a flower that you can find around her.

I love it! The fact that nature is illustrated with 8x8 patterns arranged around the character gives it a truly unique atmosphere. This makes the piece very detailed while highlighting the protagonist.

Thank you thank you ๐Ÿ™Œ, I'm very happy that someone noticed it,

also the tiling intersection that I intentionally made easy to spot, I'm a bit surprised that I don't quite see anyone else using this method.
